Hi, this was my first time letting my broodie hatch her own chicks so any experiences in this matter would be great! I let one of my broodies hatch 6 eggs she's been raising them til last night they are 4 weeks old. She's a great mama. I gave 4 of her chicks away to new home. I left her the other two chicks. Well yesterday one of my roosters attacked one of the chicks. He left the neck skin hanging off his neck.
I cleaned it with saline and then super glued the wound together.I put antifungal antibacterial stuff on it. He is doing great being his sweet self. Except I could tell he was lonely and stressed out being by himself so I went ahead and removed the other chick from mama now the injured chick is super happy not to be alone and stopped crying. If I keep the babies for 3 days to make sure the injured chick heals properly will she take them back if she's goes without her babies for three days?
