we have had these really wonderfull isa brown chickens for 1yr now and we think there ready for mother hood. They think that the commen crested pidgions are chickens and they walk around with each other. But cause the pidgons r only small the chickens protect them from the fox's, snakes, cats and we try to scare the pidgons away cause the chickens are endangering them selfs and unlike the pidgions they can't fly away. So someone said we can have some fertile eggs but I'm worry if I put them under r most broody chicken she might not know their going to hatch? Will they? If not how can I make them know?
Thx bye

Chickens have no idea is an egg is fertile or not. My chickens have sat on unfertile eggs for weeks until now. Don't tell!

I will mark and slip them under her at night. If what u say is true she will just sit on them any way.
Thx for the reply!
