Just starting my first flock. I am not quite sure if the younger chicks need grit and/or calcium. Could you help me?

I am sorry. I must correct my mistake, no matter how small. The last answer, "dont" should be "don't."

If you are only giving them commercial feed, and maybe some boiled egg yolk for treats, they do not need grit.

They do NOT need calcium at all until they are laying!

If you want to feed them treats, they will need some grit sprinkled over their food (while they are still in the brooder). Once they get out onto the ground, they should be able to find small pebbles and bits of rock to use for grit.

Hope this helps!
