Will my chicken come back?

Earlier today dog accidentally got out and chased my new chicken into the woods. I’ve only had her for a few days. I thought she would come back at night to roost but she didn’t. I can’t find her anywhere. Can chickens get lost? Is there still a chance she could come back?

She may, but she may not. Since you haven’t had her very long she may not know where home is yet. Hopefully she does though. She’s probably found somewhere to hide out for the night and will hopefully come back in the morning.

They can get lost if there new on the property. Chickens need to be taught where there home is, so they have no desire to fly the coop and get lost.
