Hey all been a while since I posted I have a question to ease my mind. As it cools off over hear in southern idaho it is beginning to get to 20 degrees f at night. Now I have a coop with a fine upstairs in doors sleeping area that they would go to every night when younger. As they have grown up 2 of the 3 started roosting on a bar out front. I put a picture of it up. The bar is right in front of the door to the roost and egg box. But my welsummer would still sleep in doors but as far up to the door as possible as if to stay close to her sisters. Then even she moved out side for the night every night. Now I checked for red mites, mice anything that could be keeping them out. I changed bedding I have tried everything to get them back in even putting a light in there at night. They just prefer to be out front on the bar now. My question is as it gets colder will they be okay. If it's too cold will they have the sense to go in? I have hung up plastic sheets around the coop to insulate buy let air in at night. You can see one in one of the pictures in front of their current sleeping spot.
Thank you!
