I should know, I was hit by lightning many years ago and lived. It stopped my heart for several minutes and although I couldn't see/hear/smell/touch/taste anything my brain was still conscious. I knew my heart wasn't beating and I felt unbelievably cold as my core temp. dropped. I knew I was dying. Several minutes later (which felt like much longer) my heart began to beat again and I gradually regained my senses. It took several days before the scrambled neurological impulses were working again. I could not speak plainly or think clearly for several weeks. Our brain is electrical and when I got the surge of electricity through my feet on the ground it interrupted the normal synapse actions of my brain. I haven't been left with any long term disability from it, thank God......but I do have a strange addiction to silkie chickens........hmmmmmmm??????
