i have 2 dogs. One is a Boston terrier, the other is a golden retriever/ boarder collie mix of some kind. My chickens rooster and dogs all get along just fine!!! Even when free ranging, my dogs have learned that the flock are friends not food hahah! Which I originally thought would be great in helping deter predators. However the thought crossed my mind that the chickens may become less cautious of real predators sense they are now comfortable around the dogs. Is this an issue??

I can't imagine so as chickens are prey animals and its inbuilt in their nature to keep a look out ALL the time. Sure, they will listen to your dogs, but they also listen to other prey animals. Where i live its squirrels that help the chickens out - if the squirrels make alarm calls, the whole flock starts to look around for danger.
