hey guys so recently one of my female ducks started sitting on eggs. i have 4 males and 7 females. it seems like a lot but they free range and the males are very gentle and almost always good with the females despite the ratio not being much. my question is that i’m worried that the males won’t like or might be aggressive with the baby ducks (i only have one duck house) so im worried about them hurting them, but im not sure about it. any tips or advice? anyone have any person experience with a high ratio of males with baby ducks??

Seperate them. Odds are high that they'll kill/injure the ducklings

If your eggs haven't hatched yet, you've got time to make/beg/buy/borrow/steal a broody hutch. It could kinda look like a medium sized dog house with bars at the door to keep your duck in, a lockable door for shutting them all up in at night, good ventilation, (maybe a slatted floor) and a small covered run out front.. so the ducklings can get out onto the grass, but nothing can get in to them and mom can't get out of the house. If your roof were hinged that would be easier to clean it out. Oh, and the bars on the door need to be openable so you can get your duck out, later. It would be easy to move hutch and run around on the grass, and convenient to put food and water in the run.. where mommaduck can reach the water but not babies' feed.
