Will my eggs fry?! Help!!!!

I am testing a homemade incubator right now. I am hatching small eggs with larger eggs. I put the small eggs near the heat source. Should I put the smaller eggs away from the light so they don’t get too hot or just leave it? I read that all the big eggs steal the heat from the small eggs but I am not too sure about that because I touched them and the small egg was warmer than the large egg.

If the temps are right, your actually not hot enough. You really want to be closer to 99 or 101ish depending on if you got a fan going in there.
You also should rotate the eggs around the incubator on a regular basis (ie every time you turn the eggs) so that no egg sits in a hot spot to long and no egg sits in the cold spots.

Thanks so much! I don’t have a fan. I moved the small eggs to the middle

That means you have a still air and your temp should be higher than the 99.5 of a force air. You will also want to make sure you rotate your eggs around the incubator for the best results.
