I let my girls free range until this weekend. I had a Red Tail Hawk kill my sweet little EE pullet this weekend. A lot of tears were shed by me. Now I am afraid to let them out. I have 6 girls and a 10 x 10 sand run that also connects to a 10 x 10 pen that is under there coop. They have 3 foot clearance under the coop. The floor under the coop is concrete. It used to be a dog pen.
Is the combination of the 2 spaces enough or will they be too stressed being confined to this? I don't want anything getting the rest of my girls.
