Welcome to BYC from The Bluegrass State!

ok so since i have taken the eggs for incubation it is day 11, i have had a few temp spikes to around 102 but never for long. when i candle they look really dark allreadyy. is this normal im wondering if they are gonna hatch early from the spikes cause they look like maybe further along for day 11 more like pics ive seen of day 14 or so online. this is my first incubation so im really trying so hard. my kids are very anxious as well. i dont see movement in most of them but the veining around air sac still looks really good and as far as i can tell normal. any help is apreciated. also when i turn them while candleing the blob seems to slide slowly that direction. oh lord im so nervouse dont want to mess things up.

thank you for the advice i swear i dont think ive been such a nervous wrech since i was prego w my human babies lol. they are also my kids chickens too so i am hoping to have a decent hatch its been to avoid to much diapointment. neway thanks again so much you have all been so great.
Wait until the last few days when they're in lockdown. I just hatched my first batch this weekend. (All of them are happy and healthy.) It was the most nerve wracking thing ever. 3 days of lockdown then they came on 4 different nights. I was so paranoid with the opening and closing to get the first ones out. I did that in my steamy bathroom BTW. Worked great. Exciting to have a part in creating life though for sure. Now the really hard part will be having to part with some.
