Will my Light Brahma Rooster get larger?

My light Brahma rooster, Sheriff, is only 10 months old, and is around 10 lbs. I was wondering if he would end up growing to a larger size which they are known for. I bought the Brahma chicks at tractor supply and one of the “pullets” ended up to be a rooster. Hope he will grow to that size but am just curious to learn if it is a genetic thing that breeders breed into them or is it just what the breed does. Looking forward to seeing what people have to say.

I'd assume that yes he'll get bigger. Being he's from a hatchery he might not get huge, but they take a long time to fill in. My last LB boy was mostly just a large frame till around 10 months old, and then the muscle structure started filling in.

I'm probably not going to be a lot of help here but I'd like to learn the answer too.
I do Think that he will grow more, as I've read that they don't reach their full growth until around 2 yrs.
I have a rooster that has continued to grow. At 2 yrs he is bigger than I anticipated and I wish he were not so big for the sake of my mixed flock girls.
He is not a brahma, he is 1/2 blue orpington (breeder stock, I was told/ my hen hatched his egg) and 1/2 ameraucana. He has gained almost 1& 1/2 lb. Since his 1st birthday and has topped out..I hope at 12lbs.
He is a great rooster, but if I ever get another I'll find a smaller breed. He has produced some large offsprings..both pullets and cockrells.
He does best with big girls like orpingtons and langshan. He is a bit overwhelming to my smaller hens. I did buy him a few feed store brahma girls this spring. They are still in the brooder.
I love big chickens but my climate is hot in the summer and I like keeping smaller hens too so I feel that I should have gone with smaller breeds.

Thanks for the reply. He definitely has a large frame right now and has been eating lots of whole corn, sunflower seeds, and anything he can find while free ranging on our farm. I love the whole Brahma breed and larger roosters tend to deter hawks which is a plus. I have always had ISA brown hens and I have a 4 year old isa brown rooster who has gone infertile so it’s time for a new rooster, new breed, fresh start.

Thanks for the reply. Good to know that they are a slow growing breed. I was worried about the same thing when I saw how big he already has gotten, so I decided to get rid of the isa browns one day and replace them with big LB hens for this big guy to jump on. Btw I love the Orpington breed!

I don’t mean to step in your toes, but whole corn has no nutritional value. Are you feeding your flock fortified chicken feed as well? If not, then that is why your Brahma Roo is not growing enough. I highly recommend Purina All Flock.

I do feed them the layer pellets as well but I will look at that Purina all flock, do you know if tractor supply has that feed?
