Will my silkie ever lay?

My best layer didn't start laying her first egg until after 30 weeks. Then I got 1 or 2 the first week... then on week 3 I was getting 5 a week. Even with the short days we're having now and the cold she is laying 5 a week!!! I had 4 laying silkies (until 2 more went broody around Christmas) and I was getting 3 a day everyday!

Once their system gets going... you'll be happy with her. Give her time getting started!

Some are much later bloomers than others. She will lay when she is ready.
