Hey guys!
So I have been working on a plan for a chicken Tractor in hopes of getting 3 BLRW Hens and a BLRW Roo. Do you think this would be able to handle them? Also they would have full run of the back yard during the day while we are home (We work from home, so we are always home). Run = 8' W x 4' D x 2' H. Coop = 8' W x 4' D x 3' H. Also Left Side Wall will swing open to expose nesting boxes and Feeding Area. Also it's not pictured, but there will be a door for the run. And we will wire in a heat lamp, considering our lowest temp this winter was -16! Plus hubby has some idea's about insulating it.

Also we picked up these Plywood Shipping crates in hopes of at least putting the wood to use on the coop.

So what do you think? Will it be good enough? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

i think it will be fine for your three. that answer is solely based on 4 feet pet bird for the coop and 10 for the run so it meets the minimums. i think it would work for what you want to do with it. good luck and keep us updated on your progress.

also i think ive read on here that you only need 1 nest box for every few hens, so you could actually put only one next box in and just leave some more room for other stuff in their coop...just an idea

hope this helps,
