I have 3 bourbon red, 2 toms one hen, all 31 weeks. (one of the toms will be easter dinner).

They all all very friendly, eat out of hand and love to go for walks with the kids around our property. They are housed with the chickens.

When they get older and more mature will they become mean and less friendly?

thanks

You might get some cranky behavior during breeding season (like now) and the hens don't much like it if you disturb them while they're trying to set a nest but if they're already well socialized and friendly they should remain that way for the most part.

None of my 3 boys are mean well unless your a dog

Good with chickens, ducks and geese and a wonderful addition to the farm there one annoying thing is that they like to sleep on the roof if they get a chance lol

Here are the boys

My advice to end up with nice turkeys -- ignore them!! If they get too focused on you, they start to want to compete etc.

My turkey only was mean to the neighbor farmer but no one else. Guess what... the first time the farmer saw my turkey, he kicked at him and yelled at him (at no provocation). So who was being mean to who? The farmer then proceeded to ALWAYS kick at my tom when he saw him. Well, would you believe that tom saw mr. farmer as the enemy and always gave him trouble, even chasing his truck out of the driveway? Yet the tom was sweet as pie to everyone else all the time. THAT's how you get a mean turkey.
