Will my white Silkie get fluffier?

Thanks - I was looking at the picture on my phone and I thought it looked like it had normal feathering. But phone pictures are too small to be sure.

I should try visiting byc on the phone... is there a byc app..? lol

The white's feathers has the typical look of silkie crossed with normal feather- feathers are non-silked but 'softer' than the usual feather. I can easily see how it'd not be so obvious in a small picture.. pass for a hatchery white silkie.

I paid less than that for chicks from Bobbi Porto. Why so much? DNA sexed?

I doubt the bird is DNA sexed but he did tell me that all his Silkies are show quality birds and the mature birds he has are very nice! He also includes free vaccinations for every bird so maybe that's why he charged me so much, I don't know? I am going down there tomorrow to get my birds vaccinated so I will tell him I want another chick or my money back. Thank you everyone for your help and advice! :)

The white is NOT a pure silkie. It has NORMAL feathers.  It is a cross or mix. No ifs or buts about it.

For how much you paid(was it as day old?) you sure could call her and ask what's up with that.   If you want to trade, fine.. but frankly they should profusely apologize and give you another chick or two for FREE  because it was completely their mistake.

Also that price is way too high. even for the black one. She is nice but not deserving of that price.

Go to another breeder, someone who shows silkiies or breeds to the show standard.  They cost a fair but but is worth it if you want the round balls of completely soft fuzz with awesome leg and crest feathering.

Thanks for your help, this is the kind of advice I was looking for since I'm a newbie and not very experienced in such matters. I will show the owner of Chickens Galore your text tomorrow when I go there to get my chicks vaccinated. Thanks for your advice! :)

Russell, the owner of Chickens Galore is a really nice guy and I don't think he would intentionally over charge me for a chick. I got the chick when it was only a couple of days old so maybe he didn't have time to sort through them before he sold it to me. I have also had some other trouble with not getting exactly what I asked for from him for example I asked for an Ameracauna and got an Easter Egger. I asked for a Buff Brahma and got some other type of Brahma. I like both birds and I'm not too picky but I'm going to say something to him about this white Silkie!

I saw Russell at Chickens Galore yesterday and he did take back the bird and give me my money back so now Im looking to buy some quality Silkies from a reputable breeder. Thanks for all your help!
