Only one egg is fertile and growing in my incubator, I'm thinking to put the egg under a broody, there are two reasons I'm hesitant, one is that she is very mean to the other hens and I don't know if she will be a good mother. She screams and does not make normal hen noises, even when she is not broody, she sounds demonic/sounds like she has mental problems, I'm not exaggerating at all. Also, only one egg will hatch, which means only one chick, will it be fine with a mother hen, or will it be lonely?

It will be less lonely with a mama, I would think.

I don't think I want to predict which way this will go. She could be a very protective mama, or.... If I were going to try it, which I probably would, I'd put the chick under the mama just after good dark, on its first day of life. I'd also have a fake egg under the broody til the chick hatched.
