Will our chickens ever be "friendly"

When I was little I got attacked by a huge rooster. Was never really around chickens until I got some of my own. Had one old aunt I saw once a year that kept some. I remember she had a silkie. Those are my early memories of chickens

My chicken come running if they think we have treats. Otherwise they view us with great suspicion. You never know. One day we might stop being vegetarians. A chicken has to be careful in this big scary world.

Seriously, I don't understand how people cuddle chickens. Our hens do not want hugs. No way.
