Will possum attack chickens during the day?

A possum killed my hen on Monday, about 2:00 in the afternoon. Lots of possums around, they never killed my hens or chicks before.

Yes, I know it will come back. I was commenting for the original poster. They do sometimes come out to kill in the daylight.
