Will processors take birds as partial payment?

Just wondering if any processors would take some of the birds as their payment.

ETA: Sort of like having someone cut your hay "on halves." (they keep half of the hay for their labor)

Here in SC we have back yard prossers that work that way not sure what they charge

I think in many states that could run into some legal hurdles.

I know that the processor I use is NOT a retailer. They'd be very quickly inundated if they were "paid in chickens."

all you can do is ask.. I never bothered to ask, but I think mine would because he retails meat also. and as long as I have him do the butchering, I also can sell the chickens because there is an inspector on site..

why don't you just pay him and then sell your extra chickens?
