Will pullet naturally lay in nesting boxes or outside?

When mine started to lay, it seemed they'd drop their egg wherever they were in their run. I found them all over. I got a ceramic egg to put in each nesting box and they all laid in there from that day on. It was a very convincing egg, so must have done the trick.

If I have to resort to ceramic eggs, I will LOL :) So what happened when your girls laying time moved into night time?

You're welcome!

Hopefully your girl is trained now, just cross your fingers and wait for tomorrow! And I've read that as the daylight gets shorter, the less they lay. And that some even stop laying in the winter from the short days. But i would definitely expect production to slow down.
