Will she ever lay another egg?

Hello! I've seen this topic discussed before, but still have some questions. The Chicken i question is my one year old easter egger hen, Cleo. She started laying in mid July last summer and was really great at it until mid october when she stopped, did a little molting and hasn't laid an egg since. I've scoured the yard for potential nests, and have even kept her in the coop for a few days, just to see if she'd lay an egg there. her sisters (an Australorp and Black Sex-link) lay eggs almost daily, even in the cruddy winter cold and dark. All of them seem super alert, active and healthy. Cleo, in particular, has beautiful soft silk feathers--a snuggle bird! I am going to be taking in a stool sample to the vet shortly, just to double check for worms. Does any one heve any insight into this situation? Is Cleo just a looker, not a layer? Thanks.

A mystery... It sounds like you are doing the right things, there are no signs of a swollen belly or anything. If she wasn't used to being confined to the coop, it is also possible she stopped for a few days due to the change in routine. Hope you solve the mystery and she lays again ( in the nestbox) .

I worry because she is so young, but my EEs usually come through for me when the weather gets too warm for some other breeds, so maybe thats why she is on vacation.

I know chickens respond to light, and I am wondering if Cleo needs a really long stretch of BRIGHT light? It has been literally 40 degrees and raining here since, well, October (I'm in the Pacific Northwest). We have had maybe one sunny day to speak of since I can remember. I'm hoping that maybe if we get a nice stretch of sun she might "reset". I have caught her a couple of times in the nest box--could she maybe be thinking she is laying eggs?
