I have a Brahma that is about 5 months old. I let my girls free range almost all day. Well, today my neighbor called and said of the girls was making a ruckus. She had never heard them do that before. So I go out and check. She, the chicken, is over at the coop trying to get in but I had left the door closed.
So I opened the door, she runs up in her hen house and is in her nesting box. Never seen this before. I thought they would end up laying around the yard. Had no idea they knew what the nesting box was for.
Anyway, will she lay today or will it take a couple days. This will be out first egg out of our little urban flock of four hens. Needless to say I need to know when to expect this egg. We are a tad bit excited.
