recently i have been noticing my drake peking at his hen and then he jumps on top of her, she doesnt seem to mind all that much and shes not beat up

I only have 1 pair and want to keep it like that hopefully

They are in a big pen that is 10 by 10 feet

Will he get to rough with her? I hope not! ANyone? shes so tiny compared to him so im a bit worried...

My scovy do the same thing . Just make sure she has no cuts as their nails are really sharp and make sure the feathers dont get ripped off her back . Not sure if they make saddles for ducks

If it seems he is over mating her, you may need to get him a few more!
I have a trio and they haven't been over mated. I have Muscovys.
I might just be lucky!

Scovy drakes are rough when mating. Mine killed a pekin duck a couple years ago from stomping her and standing on her while they thought about just how they were going to go about it all.

I love my drakes as pets, but it is hard to watch them in action.

Well, ducks seem to like it rough so to speak

I had 3 hens and one drake, now I have 2 hens (lost the khaki to an injury...maybe mating related). He isn't mean or anything, just...well...in his prime.
