Will the rain EVER stop? !!!!!!!

It's awful. The girls were inside for 3 days straight and we just let them out awhile ago when the sun stayed out more than 5 minutes. DH won't let me go down to the coops in the mudslide because the last time we got near this much rain was the first week of January when I broke my ankle. I'm glad my house is on a small mtn with the land falling away from it on all sides, which is one reason we bought it. Even if we move, we'll look for a house on a hill just because of this very thing.

I see the sun too! yay! Boy do the chickens want out to run loose, scolding me every time I pop my head out to look.
I watched the creek below us all yesterday and it has behaved. The xxxl garage sale dog crate is the backup plan, but didn't need it. Poor hens, today or tomorrow I will dust them again for mites and change out their shavings (just did it Sunday).
Lucky Walton County - I think its a rain shadow effect from Stone Mountain - we didn't get the 15 inches in a day other parts did. whew.

The mother hen in me made me repeat endlessly the lessons learned about cars, flood water, and idiots...

Had several children drown, including a 14 yr old boy who was trying to help someone else. I've never been so happy to live on a mtn. in my life. My son called last night-he'd been trying to get home from work for hours and was running out of gas. So many roads were closed all over the place.

Our parish got 15 inches of rain last week & they mosquitos are getting bad again.

The sun has been out all morning here, I've never been so happy to see it. My goaties finally came out of their box. I lost a 5 week old chick yesterday/last night cause it was raining so hard at bedtime, I didn't go out and lock up.
