i think i will just keep them separated until i feel comfortable the ladies can take care of themselves. I get an uneasy feeling when i see captain looming down on the girly girls. not even going to think about what rebel would do with his hormonal teenage self.

Your rooster is a Dominique, not a BR. My roosters don't usually chase down the pullets till they get to a pretty good size and their combs start turning pink.

I would worry about the roo mixed with game challenging the captain since he partially game. Might end up reversed soon. As far as the captain being a bit big that is true but they will manage fine if you have enough hens. Also if you let them breed to often you will have 50-75 percent game roos and hens and eventually will have to either keep all the roos away from each other or give them away if your not wanting to deal with serious problems.
