Will these incubator plans work

Actually the fan does not have to be connected to the light. Mine is not. The fan I used is a $3 pc fan I ordered online from Office Depot. It came the next morning by UPS with free shipping.

I have two home made incubators based on the water heater and light bulb with computer fan design.
My fan is wired to be running all the time. I want the air moving always not just when being heated.

My fan, lamp and thermostat are positioned so that the air is blowing directly at the lamp. The thermostat is positioned above and with the metal back toward the lamp. I started out with something similar to the Gopher Bator but was not happy with the temperature swings I got. Placing the thermostat as I do now the incubator fluctuates about half a degree over a 24 hour period.

My incubator has been running almost non stop since mid march. It has held to a range of 1 degree for that entire time. no spikes no dips

one huge factor in getting a home made bator that works well is how well insulated the box is that you use.
