Will these work for nesting boxes?

Mine work fine without cutting them down, and sometimes two 7+ pound birds get in at one time! I put an empty feed bag on the bottom, and shavings or hay on top as bedding.

The sapling in front is so the hens can walk along and decide which box to use. The boxes sit on an open shelf, and the 4" board in front is too low, they still push bedding out of the boxes.
Use a 6" board instead, and also the slanted top is obviously not slanted enough. Make it at a 45 degree angle instead.
I like that there's good air flow all around each box, very good in summer.

Thanks. Your hens look very comfortable! I ended up cutting mine due to the height of our coop due to a slanted section for the nesting boxes.

I have those little plastic easter eggs, would those work like the fake eggs from TSC?
They need to be filled with something heavy, or they'll just get kicked right out of the nest, sand can work great(might have to seal holes tho).

I just put rocks inside. Thanks for letting me know! No interest in the nesting boxes yet. I may still have weeks but I wanted to have it ready. My red sex links are just about 16 wks old.
