Hi all,
I made great progress on my coop last night ( no pics yet, sorry!) it's a tiny urban one, 3ft x 4 ft, for 3 chickens... a one-woman job using as much found and free materials as I can find...
I had some leftover duct insulation that I am using the line the inside of the roof. the side that is visible is lined with heavy metal foil. I stapled it very well along all the edges... the question is, if you were a chicken and looked up and saw shiny metal foil, would you want to gnaw on it? do I need to cover it over with some luan or something?

I'd cover it. They will peck and pull the insulation apart if they can reach it.

Mine have not bothered shiny foil bubblewrap. If I were in your shoes I would probably put it up and just keep a hawklike eye on it for any signs of pecking, so's to be able to go to Plan B: Plywood if needed.
