I do remember reading that Buff Orpingtons are among the most "wimpy" of chickens and often get picked on by more aggressive breeds. So that may be compounding your problem. I think our EEs are just a bit small to hold their own with the older ones. They certainly chest bump and fight with each other like champs, they're just terrified of the older pullets currently. I'm just not sure what is going to change that situation . . .

Yeah, these girls say, "oh, excuse me...I didn't mean to chest bump you", "you eat first ...no you eat...no really I insist" They are just like the sweetest little ladies ever, but they refuse to stand up for themselves. I bet your EE will when they are bigger. My BR's are hilarious to watch, but they are always challenging each other. They sure love people though. I may just give the BO their own little coop, and yard.
