Will they start laying in the Winter?

My Barred Rocks bought as day old chicks middle of August 2018 started to lay January 3rd. All 7 were laying by 23 weeks old.

I do add lights at 5 am daily year-round and sunset was 13 minutes later than earliest sunset in December. GC

I do add a small wattage fluorescent light now when the daylight hours are shorter. When I visit them before and after daylight I can visit with them and tell them to give me eggs!!!!HaHa

Definitely depends on a zillion factors, but one of my pullets just started laying about a week ago (I'm guessing based on size of the nest I found), so dont give up hope! (or do, so that any eggs you find are just a huge bonus)

I'm not too concerned! The other two provide plenty of eggs!
