Theres really no design to it . Pallets ,plywood ,wood and chicken wire .That looks great! I can't believe you built that in haste! Would you be willing to share your design!
Thanks .what little vegetasion I had "weeds" have disappeared in there already lolPeople are always going to nitpick. It looks great. The dust bath area is a good addition. I'm building mobile so I don't have an area stripped of all green, but some of New Mexico is pretty barren anyway. You've given them security, space, shade, water, and feed. That's a good start.
Thanks !! The coop that is raised off the Ground can be shut if needed to . I hinged a door for it thinking about winter time . Raccoons arn't a problem here in Albuquerque ,NM . In fact you never see one . Just neighborhood Cats , dogs and Hawks pose a problem for these chickensExcellent job! Plenty of shelter and shade. And even the most determine coyote is going to have to really work to get at the chickens. The only potential issue is the chicken wire covering when it comes to keeping raccoons out. Raccoons can shred that stuff with very little effort. And they can reach right through it to grab a bird. A coop that can be shut each night is the best way to keep them safe at night.
Just because you don't see them, doesn't mean they aren't there. There is no place in North America that is completely free of raccoons and coyotes. They inhabit every single city, town, and wild environment on the continent. To say they aren't a problem where you live is being naive.Theres really no design to it . Coyotes are around but rarely seen in my neighborhood . I've never seen a Raccoon in these parts .Just because you don't see them, doesn't mean they aren't there.
