Will this size of gravel work in the pen?

Reading another thread got me thinking that maybe the gravel I've put down in my pen, (now being built) might not be the best for the chickens. What do you think?

I really don't understand why you're using gravel instead of construction sand with differing sizes of grit.

I'm using this stuff because I already had some in the dog pen, which is now being turned into a chicken pen. Plus I have a pile of it sitting in the yard not being used for anything.

Might be OK and you could always put a layer of sand over the top.

It really doesn't look half bad. But it can be really tough on a young bird's feet. If you have older birds who have already built up toughness on their tiny pads, then that will be good. I agree with putting LOTS of sand over the top. I would omit the gravel from any area where the chickies like to dust bathe. They might not be able to "scratch" out a hole that would be comfortable for them.

it will be ok, they will get used to ut, only concern is cleaning the poo.
