I have eggs in an incubator and eggs under a broody, the eggs in the incubator are set to hatch a week before the broody. Can I raise them in a brooder for a week until the ones under the broody start to hatch then sneak them into her? Or will they not accept her as their mother because they have been without her a week and/or will she not accept them because they are bigger than her babies that are hatching? Thanks in advance!

I'm just speculating here...never tried your idea.... but I expect the broody would reject the week olds....just a feelin' - what breed is the broody? Is this her first hatch?

......... If you try it, I'd like to know if it works!

I agree

Thanks for your responses! That is kind of what I was thinking. She is a BO x EE and it is her first hatch.

I was thinking, if she was silkie....maybe (a big maybe!).... that would be your best hope for a plan like that....
