That was my goal. However, I started working with a rescue and was up to my eyeballs with ducks in no time. I always get "some" eggs in winter, but also long stretches with nothing.

But that is a great way to ensure eggs. Though ducks lay longer than chickens, so if you added 2 every 2 or 3 years you won't have a million ducks for eggs.
