Thankyou! We spend a lot of time with our chickens, even sometimes just sitting in the coop for two hours. The last time family left, our neighbor was stupid enough to let his dogs in our yard, they killed two and separated ones spineThey’ve had a nasty shock — friends and family members are gone from their world. They will learn to cope; they just need time and love.
yea they are really bad, but we did kill it. We do think there are more but now our fence is wire mesh. The mink that did this was a really big one for a mink in Oregon. Usually these kind of animals usually depend on location for size. Oregon has pretty much minny everything, compared to the Midwest states.Your chickens have been through an ordeal. They’ll be scared for a while. If it’s fall where you are, your rooster may not mate with your hens until spring. I hope you found where the monk got in and were able to fix it. They are nasty creatures and can squeeze in through surprisingly small spaces.
