Im not sure what in the heck got her but I found her headless with feathers everywhere. I couldn't find the head anywhere. It looked like whatever got her ate the inside of the body but didn't harm the outside. Im not sure what time of the day it was. My chickens free range so I didn't notice her but I was at church this morning and I wasn't with them much today. We live pretty much in the woods so it could have been anything.
I have set a baited raccoon/opossum trap near where her body was.

Here are pics...WARNING--GRAPHIC!

Thanks for helping!

A possum did that to two of my chicks this summer

I know it was a possum 'cause I caught it in the act.

Well I am usually one to say racoons. This time I say possum. Another thing to add is weasels drink blood so I do.t thin weasel because the insides were eaten. Guess I didn't look well enough at the picture because a possum will usually eat the feet too. I have personally seen racoons go for the heads so I honestly say could be either one of them. Use that chicken for bait in that trap and you will catch whatever it was. Looked again and now I say racoon.

I just found one of birds in the process of being eaten by a hawk. He ate the head and chest just like that

The hawk flew off and I grabbed my baby, and that is what he/she looked like!
