Willow the Great Pyrenees

In my opinion, that's asking for trouble when they are puppies before they are trained and listen to you. One, she will grow way too big to sleep there (at night with you), two, she might try to claim the bed as her own and not get off and even get aggressive when she's told to, and three, she might not learn how to cope with being by herself in her own space (separation anxiety).
I agree.
They should be crated or in a small portable fenced area so they learn that the bed isnt theres.
None of mine sleep in any rooms they stay near their crates or in them.

That said, we used to have a Pyrenees mix and he DID try to claim the bed and resource guarded. I managed to train him out of it but still. He only listened to me.
Yeah, it depends on the dog, their age, if they're submissive, etc. It's not worth risking with a puppy, in my opinion.

Brewster sleeps on furniture every single night, either my bed or a chair, and he’s extremely well behaved.
My dog sleeps on my bed with me too, but I know she listens to me very well and will get off when told to do so. And I can physically move her out of my way without any bad reaction.

I could allow Denver to sleep on my bed if i wished to. But she isnt allowed upstairs yet. Once i convince my mom it will be different.

Ah makes sense. Yeah, Brew slept in his crate as a baby. No matter how much he cried. They need to learn in case they ever need to be crated at the vet or something.

Having my dog in my bed is so comforting. She warms me up, I stroke her when I'm anxious, and my blood pressure is lowered when I watch her sleep. Both of my Bostons were/are extremely tolerant of anything I did to them while they were sleeping.
