WIN 24 QUAIL EGGS - Guess How Many Quail Monarc Has

Quote:
YES you can keep them in doors they make great caged pets (but they are strictly ground dwellers and physically cannot perch so no need for perches.

they are like chickens, but no more than 5 hens to one roo or you'll loose fertility

A pair can be really rough on the hen.

I call them mini chickens for a reason

You're going to be addicted so don't even question it, soon i'lll see you on the other fowl part all the time and i tmakes me smile LOL!

Quail fly very well. Don't let them out or you will have wild quail. We
have several of our escapees living in the woods now.

Rabbit hutches work very well for quail. You just need to make sure they
can't squeeze through the screening/mesh material.

My birds have bloodlines from 5 different sources so you can breed away.

Yes yes heed PCs warning about their flight. I had a jumbo roo get out (i always clip their wings) however he molted on me and hid his renewed growth from me. I grinned and walked up to him to capture him and he shot straight UP and flew over 2 football fields away from me and into the neighbors woods! LOL!

Luckily he came back the next day but that's not always the case. BTW the bird that flew that far is a relative of PCs lines (from SamGs original lines) soo you got some good fliers coming your way so clip their wings or keep them penned as best as you can!

All my quails are in rabbit pens.

The main quail pen is a large quail hutch, the other 6 are 2x2x2 pens that I put up to 5 birds in (1 roo and 4 hens). May sound small but even though BOOks require 1 sqft per bird, they can do well in smaller spaces as long as the other birds they're in with arent evil to them. I cull any meanies....so I got a really great bunch of birds right now
