Wind egg

Awhile back one of my hens layed a wind egg about the size of a large marble. I decided to crack it open to see if it had a yolk. This is what I found inside. Its in a regular custard cup.

It was a perfect little egg, and I mean little. I didn't know they could make yolks so tiny. The yolk is about 3/8 inch across.

I get those when the girls decide to molt or go broody.....sometimes mine don't have a yolk in them....hence the name wind egg....
