Hey guys, I might be starting a coop this weekend. We have these old shower doors laying around (similar to the ones in the picture) and I was wondering if you think they’d be acceptable for a window in the coop? Thanks!

Go for it! Natural light can help hens lay longer in the winter. Just be sure nothing can get in. If you make it openable, which would be a good idea, make sure it is covered in hardware cloth or chicken wire. Preferably hardware cloth.

Boy, not sure...they are awfully big.
Do you plan on having them slide like(I assume) in the pic....or.....?
Do you have coop plans drawn out(highly recommend sketching on graph paper) where will they fit?
At least they are probably made of safety glass, most shower doors are.

We wouldn’t all 3, just one of them! We would build a frame for it and lay it horizontally. But we may just end up using plexiglass.
