Is it important to cover windows in the coop with hardware cloth so the birds won't fly into the glass? I plan to cover the windows that do open with hardware cloth to keep out predators.

There was a window in the old shed I renovated for my coop. It is uncovered and I have not had any trouble with the birds flying into it. It I had a window that opened,I would certainly cove it with something.

It depends on where the window is located and how much your birds fly. I have a picture window directly in front of the roost and made a hinged hardware cloth screen to go inside the window that locks-keeps predators out and birds from flying into the glass accidentally.
