My boyfriend has just about got the coop done. He ordered windows for it on Sunday, after reading about the coons, I was wondering, if the windows would be good enough to keep the coons and opossums out. They are vinyl windows just like you would put on a house 14 x 21 that has a screen just like a house window. Our coop is raised off the ground about 3 feet and these windows will be about 2 ½ feet from the bottom of the coop, so about 5 ½ feet up, but we plan on building a pen around the bottom of the coop so our chicks can get underneath it for shade during the summer and to have more space, so there will be access to the top of the pen for the coons or opossums to maybe get to the windows, we plan on keeping these open during the summer for a cross breeze. Do you think this will be enough to keep them out? Thanks.

Nope, they need hardware wire but you can put some kind of hardware wire on wood frame over the windows with screws. When you need to clean inside or out, you can unscrew them and put them back up when they are done.
