Windows?

My chickens really like their windows and free light is worth the trouble of adding them, IMO. I used old shed windows salvaged from a teardown but Habitat is reasonable if you don't have a source for free ones.

My girls like to sit and look out the window. The roost is near the window and they do enjoy the natural light.

The light from windows is free, do you really want to use electricity every time you are working in the coop?

If using opening windows make sure you put hardware cloth or something over or behind them to prevet predators from coming in
