Wing Claws

Great post and so interesting, We were having a discussion on another thread about the auracauna (sp). They beleive they may have arrived with anicient asian travelers . They discovered the same genetics in the breed as an ancient chinese chicken that lays blue eggs. The breed sorry I cant remember the name off the top ...a million years ago branched off the same line as a pheasant line..The whole conversation was so interesting..The bird may be and this is just being thrown out there but a branch off of archeopterex (sp) ancient bird with teeth and wing claws ...I couldnt quit reading the thread it was so good...sometimes the feathers throw somewhere back in time to a silkied type feather , ancient also. no one beleived marco polo when he said he saw chickens with hair for feathers in chicna..they thought he was making that up..turned out that was true.. eventually somone brought a group of silkie chickens to europe.
I would love to own a pair of the blue egg layers, the natives in south america say the blue eggs are from heavan and the green eggs are of the earth.

I am pretty sure that the pheasant connection has been ruled out by DNA comparison, but would like to see a reference to that study--just to be sure.

Lots of chickens have wing claws, but not all.
