In the Brooder
Hi all. Not sure if this is the right forum for this, but I have a quick question about wing clipping. We're on our second flock and have been keeping hens for a few years, but we've never done it before. It's recently become necessary - our girls have gotten smarter, I guess.
I think I'm fairly comfortable with the process, but I'm just worried about whether my birds will be able to (1) jump into their loft-style coop, which is raised 24 inches off the ground and has a platform (rather than a ramp) in front of the door that they jump onto, and (2) jump onto their roost, which is also about 24 inches off the coop floor.
I'm assuming this won't be a problem for them, but I just want to make sure before we go ahead and clip.
Thanks!
