Hi everyone. We are looking for advise for trimming our girls wings. They don't even try and fly/jump out of the yard but we are afraid they will. I recieved some advise to clip about an inch of feather from one wing, skipping the first 3 or 4 feathers. Is this the correct method?
Thank you in advance for helping!

Try looking it up on youtube. That way you will see exactly how it is done. Basically what you need to do is trim the flight feathers on one wing only. This makes them unbalanced when they try to fly.

Check out the "Chicken Whisper" on you tube. I have not done it yet but he made it look pretty easy, and painless, it is just getting the chicken to hold still that I think will be the hardest part.

They all held still and we got it done. Easy. Thanks everyone!
