I noticed my polish hens shoulder looked like it was sticking out but she was acting normal. When they got up to roost tonight I got her down to check her out. The underside of her wing where it meets her body is one big scab. She falps her wings and gets up to roost. It seems to hurt her if I touch near the area. Any ideas of what could could have happened to her. Should I give her antibiotics? I tried to get pictures but I didn’t want to pull up on her wing more so it didn’t show up well but you can see the end of the scab.

Try to examine that more closely to see if it's already healing, has pus and odor, etc.
If you need to trim some of the feathers away from the wound.

Once you have gotten a better look - you may need to flush with saline, chlorhexidine (Hibiclen) or betadine. Apply triple antibiotic ointment.

Do you have a rooster?
