Hello, my 7 month old pekin has an injury on her wing. Im not sure how she got it. She isnt injured anywhere else that I can tell. I've cleaned it with betadine and put tripple antibiotic ointment on it. Cut away feathers it looks like she's missing feathers for about two inches down on her left wing. I brought her in the house. She's in a warm darkness room. Should I give her amoxacilin? I have human kind and I have fish amoxacilin. She weighs 12.40 pounds. Any advice would be appreciated thanks.

Thank you. She is currently laying so id have to toss her and her sisters eggs for a month if I give her meds. I will totally do that if need be just holding off till I get some advice on it.

Personally, that wound looks minor. I think it would be fine with just triple antibiotic ointment or Neosporin without pain meds. You'll want to keep her dry for a few hours with the ointment on, so it isn't washed off. I recommend applying it a few times a day, or at the very least in the morning and at night.

It doesn't look too bad. Flush it well with saline, then put an antibacterial ointment overtop, repeat as needed to keep it moist. I don't think an antibiotic will be needed.

Cool thanks. Shoul I keep her inside like I planned just till it scabs over to avoid infection

Keep her in a clean area just for a day or two, until the wound clots over a bit. If that means you have to keep her inside, do so, if you can provide a clean area outside, that will work.
