Aella just stared. She wanted to tell the LeafWing the truth, but what would Aella say?
“I think she’s deaf, and you have just been trying to keep it a secret. Is that it?” Myrtle questioned Stormy. “There’s no shame in being deaf. There was supposedly a blind dragonet at Jade Mountain academy! She was just about your age too!”

Stormy knew they could not tell, or else Aella and Stormy might get separated! Aella will get a special tutor, and they would have to be away all day! Now everything was ruined!

"Don't you get it?!" Stormy burst out. "Effie! She is in the same cabin with the principal! She will make sure that we will be miserable here!"

“What if I could promise you that I will protect you from anything like that?” Myrtle asked, placing a talon on hers. “I can make sure that you don’t get separated or hurt. How does that sound?”
